Breaking the chains is screening in Poland (Warsaw) tomorrow, 25th September. The director and researcher Erminia Colucci will present the film followed by Q&A, for more info click here.

Breaking the chains (short cut) will be screened in India next week (17th June 2015) by Kochi Biennale Foundation, which is great as the issues and diffculties represented in this documentary are sadly common also in some parts of India, as in many other low-resource countries. PROMISE (PROactive Management of Integrated Services & Environments) made a short-video of the very engaging and thought-proviking discussion following the screening of Breaking the Chains at Cambridge University. The audience brought up issues about low-resources, stigma and abuses but also the value of ‘touch’ (and the impact of its absence) in mental health care. Cambridge University Southeast Asian Forum and the Gates Cambridge Scholars Council is proud to present Breaking the Chains, by Dr Erminia Colucci. The screening will be followed by Q&A with the director.

Medfest is a medically themed film festival run by UK psychiatry trainees.
Every Spring, medical schools around the UK and Ireland hold evening events. A selection of short films, clips and animations are shown and discussed by a panel of distinguished or famous faces before the floor is opened for audience comments.
The dual aims of MedFest are to increase interest in psychiatry and to inspire people through film.
Breaking the chains was invited as one of the 10 clips to be screened in over 40 locations in Uk and internationally.

Just returned from Germany for the (last) preview screening of Breaking the Chains. The film was part of a very interesting session on ‘Psychological problems’ together with Christian Shur’s engaging “Descending with angels”. In the meantime, Breaking the chains is being sound-mixed and getting ready for its official release in July!

‘Breaking the chains’ will be previewed as part of the AAS Film Expo 2014: Expanding Asia, Connecting Culture that will take place March 27 – 29, 2014 at The Philadelphia Marriott Downtown in Philadelphia, PA.
All screenings are free and open to the public.
